What is the Summer School Scholarship? 
SOAS, University of London offers a limited number of scholarships for participation in selected academic courses which are part of the SOAS Summer School 2014 programme.These scholarships are in the form of partial fee waivers to current university students. The scholarships are designed to provide students who excel academically but may need some financial assistance with the opportunity to study at the SOAS Summer School. Applications are open to home/EU or international students.  How many scholarships are there?10 places are available for these specific courses: - A Critical History of the Israel Palestine Conflict – 2 places- Legal Systems of Africa and Asia – 2 places - The Politics of Global Capitalism – 2 places - Africa- Europe: Postcolonial Politics, Migration and the Diaspora – 2 places - Jawi and the Malay Manuscript Tradition – 2 places  What allowances does the scholarship include?The partial fee waiver consists of a 60% reduction of the tuition fee making the cost of the course £500 for successful candidates instead of the full fee of £1250.  Am I eligible to apply for a scholarship?- You must be currently enrolled on either an undergraduate or postgraduate course at university.- You must meet the general entrance and English language requirements for the Summer School as they are stated on our website:www.soas.ac.uk/summerschool/subjects/subject-based-course-admissions.html    How do I apply?- Complete the SOAS Summer School Academic Courses Scholarship application form- Complete the Standard SOAS Summer School Academic Courses application form- Send an academic reference- Send us your latest transcript from your university- Send your completed application and supporting documents to summerschool at soas.ac.uk- Assessment of your application will be based on your supporting statement together with academic grades.- The deadline for return of the forms is 9 April 2014, successful candidates will hear back from us by 23 April 2014. If you do not hear back from SOAS by this date please assume you have not been successful this time.  Other Information- Scholarship winners will be required to take part in promotional activities to promote the scholarship scheme and the Summer School.- Please note that the cancellation policy for courses also applies for the scholarship, ensure you refer to the summer school terms and conditions for further information.
