Dear MANSA members,

A new CD of Guinean orchestras of the Sekou Toure era has been released.

"Authenticite. The Syliphone Years. Guinea's Orchestres Nationaux and
Federeaux 1965 - 1980" features recordings of the Syliphone label, songs
which "captured a moment in African history when a new nation asserted its
voice and placed music at the forefront of its cultural identity". Most of
the material has not appeared on compact disc before. It is a double CD,
with a 44 page booklet in English (written by Graeme Counsel) and French.
More info is at http://www.sternsmusic.com/tradewind.php and you can order
it at http://www.sternsmusic.com/disk_info/STCD3025-26

Thanks, and best regards,
